Ice Cube Buys Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Former Home

The rapper/actor and the action star have made a deal that’s as Hollywood as it gets.

In yet another edition of “All Celebrities Know Each Other,” the rapper Ice Cube (otherwise known as O’Shea Jackson) has spent $7.25 million on the home for sale in Marina del Rey, CA, that was listed by action star Jean-Claude Van Damme. Although the home was just built back in 2011, Van Damme purchased it in 2012 for $6 million; he’s made a cool (as ice) $1.25 million profit on the property!

The six-bed, 11-bath spread is in the ritzy Silver Strand community of Marina Del Rey, located on the waters of the Grand Canal. Measuring 7,574 square feet, the modern-style home has imported materials throughout. In the listing, it’s even referred to as a “trophy property.”

In addition to six spacious bedroom suites, there’s a professional-grade chef’s kitchen, state-of-the-art theater, wine cellar, and gym, where Van Damme clearly showed his daughter, Bianca Bree, a move or two. The main living areas exemplify the California indoor-outdoor aesthetic, merging into an enormous deck terrace area overlooking the sailboats and sunsets. And if you’re eager to take a dip but don’t feel like getting sandy feet, head up to the rooftop pool for a 360-degree view of Marina Del Rey.

Ice Cube’s longtime home is a property in Encino, CA, where he’s lived since 1996. He’s come a long way from Compton!
