Bruce Willis just bought a stunning, picturesque home in Bedford, New York for $9 million!
The actor and his wife, Emma Heming, were spotted looking at properties in the area, as first reported by the local Poughkeepsie Journal. Property records show that they closed on a new home on August 29, 2014.
Located within driving distance to New York City, Bedford has become a veritable hotbed for celebrity buyers who want a country escape. Willis’ new neighbors include Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, who sold one home in the area and just bought another. Other familiar faces in the town include Martha Stewart, as well as Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, who have shunned the Hollywood life and made the tucked-away enclave their full-time home.
Willis and his wife’s new country home is a beautiful and sophisticated shingle-style home set atop 14 acres of one of Bedford highest points, where they have breathtaking 180 degree western views across the Croton Reservoir to the Highlands of the Hudson.
The residence is over 8,000 square feet of meticulously crafted interior living space of unsurpassed quality. Large, elegantly-scaled rooms all have huge windows and high ceilings.
A country estate with a modern twist, the home has state-of-the-art video, sound, lighting and security systems, as well as a 1,500 bottle climate-controlled wine cellar.
Outside, mature gardens and wonderful outdoor entertaining areas make it a true oasis. The property has a fabulous large swimming pool with heated cabana and outdoor shower. Beyond the gardens, the home has a synthetic surface tennis court and garages for four cars.
When Willis was married to Demi Moore, he frequently escaped to Idaho, where he owned a $15 million-dollar lakefront ranch in Hailey, ID. In his new life with his new wife and two young daughters, Willis is spending his time on the East Coast. He and Heming recently sold their Beverly Hills mansion and doubled down on their live in New York, both in the city and now in this elegant country retreat!
