The “Boy Meets World” House Hits The Market For $1.595 Million

Want to rest your head in the beloved sitcom home of curly haired Cory Matthews? Now you’ve got a chance!

Paging all Cory and Topanga fans! If you cozied up in front of your TV to watch ABC’s classic TGIF lineup on Friday nights during the ’90s, you’re in luck: The house that served as home base for the Matthews family just hit the market for $1.595 million. (Not surprisingly, the home for sale in Studio City, CA, is located across the country from where the show was actually set, in Philadelphia, PA.) While we’re guessing the wise Mr. Feeny won’t be your real-life neighbor, there are still plenty of gems that’ll take you back to the good old days of hanging with Cory and his best friend Shawn.

Located in the coveted Colfax Meadows neighborhood of Studio City, the 2,500-square-foot Boy Meets World home is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom spread ideal for any family. Built in 1940, the property is tucked behind private gates on an expansive lot surrounded by a huge front lawn, mature trees, and privacy-ensuring tall hedges. But hey, if you’re looking for neighborly chats, à la the Matthewses and Mr. Feeny, you can always invest in a pair of hedge clippers.

The home features spacious rooms throughout, including a wonderful kitchen that opens out to a den. A bright sunroom allows light to stream in but could also be converted into a third bedroom. A large formal living room and dining room provide ideal gathering spaces for the whole family, while the en-suite master bedroom is a perfectly private oasis, with a fireplace, private sun deck, and enclosed sun porch. There’s even a double detached garage and two-story guest unit, which we totally could imagine Cory’s airhead brother, Eric, moving into.

Cory was played by actor Ben Savage, who has since reprised his classic role in the Disney Channel show Girl Meets World. Naturally, his character is married to Topanga, and the couple have a young daughter. In real life, Ben is the younger brother of Wonder Years star Fred Savage, who coincidentally purchased a home back in 2007 from another curly haired actor, American Pie and Orange Is the New Black star Jason Biggs, just a short distance from Studio City in stylish Hollywood Hills, CA. Quite the small Boy Meets World, isn’t it?
