Like Father, Like Son: Lil Wayne and Birdman Both List in Miami Beach

That’s a wrap for rappers Birdman and Lil Wayne in this "Neck of the Woods."

Both Birdman and his ‘Cash Money’ label mate and constant collaborator, Lil Wayne, are selling in swank sections of Miami, FL. The two have worked on albums and tracks together for the last decade, but recently, they’ve been battling it out for buyers in the struggling Miami market, where the weather and the luxury homes are hot, but buyers are hard to find.

Birdman just listed his seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom, 20,308 square foot home for $20 million. He bought the Palm Island estate in September 2012 for $14.5M. Situated prominently in The Estates Section of Palm Island, Birdman’s customized mansion has expansive grounds, a pool and volleyball court.

Across town, Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. has just snagged a buyer for his nine-bed, 10-bath mansion, located on uber-ritzy La Gorce Island in Biscayne Bay. La Gorce is an extremely wealthy Miami enclave, where the median income is $226,397. With that kind of dough, buyers are looking for luxury in every square inch.

The mansion is highly-customized, with a shark lagoon surrounding a glass elevator, a rooftop skate park, recording studio and more. The sprawling home measures over 15,000 square feet and has a colorful history on the market. It was first listed for $18 million, price-chopped to $12M, before finally selling for $10M.
