Singing the Same Tune, Barry Manilow Relists Malibu Home

Iconic crooner Barry Manilow is singing the real estate blues in Malibu. The singer of “Mandy” and “Can’t Smile Without You” first listed the home in early 2009 for $12,600,000. Four months, later he switched agents and dropped the price to $10,900,000. With no buyer, the home came off the market but made a reappearance in March 2010 for $9,150,000. Now, it’s back!

According to the Real Estalker, Manilow purchased the home in 2002 for $3,850,000. Now, it’s listed at a much more down-to-earth (and realistic) price of $6,950,000. Will a buyer come along and finally make Manilow “smile?” We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, let’s get into the juicy details of his hard-to-sell home:

The residence is a walled and gated Contemporary with a courtyard entrance and detached guest house on a much sought after Malibu road. In a prime location, the home is uniquely sited on a promontory, which affords tremendous privacy and stunning views, both to the East and West along the beach. Interior features include a step-down 2-story living room with floor-to-ceiling glass, vaulted ceilings and limestone floors. Clocking in a 5 bedrooms, 5.5. bathrooms and 3,546 square feet, Manilow’s Malibu home has a dramatic ocean front master suite and 3 additional guest bedrooms in the main house. A charming and private guest house is located across the courtyard.
