Backstreet’s Back! A.J. McLean Relists Mediterranean Mansion

Boy-band rebel's L.A. home goes back on the market — at a major loss.

Backstreet (bad) Boy A.J. McLean has just relisted his Mediterranean mansion in Los Angeles — at a major loss.

McLean paid $2.45 million for the spot in September 2006, and now he’s asking just $1.79 million for the three-bedroom, four-bathroom dream home. A potential loss of that size can’t be music to the former boy bander’s ears. He tried to recoup some of the money he paid for the place when he first listed the home in April 2012 for $1.99 million. With no buyers in sight, McLean and his new wife, Rochelle Karidis, pulled the home off the market for a bit.

Now the home is back!

An “oasis” located on the most prestigious, privately owned, and tree-lined street in The Oaks, the house has over 3,000 square feet of open living space. McLean’s mansion features a large formal living room and a dining room with built-ins. The gourmet kitchen is a chef’s dream, with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, a built-in wine refrigerator, and plenty of space atop the central island.

Creatively planned, the home’s indoor/outdoor flow is perfect for entertaining. The mansion is highlighted by a gorgeous backyard with gas fireplace, built-in barbecue, and a magical water fountain. Lush landscaping throughout the property creates the ultimate in home privacy.

Adam Sires of Nourmand & Associates holds the listing.
