What are the best ways to get around in Downtown?

No matter the mode of transportation, it is very straightforward to get around in this area. Downtown is very well-suited for walking; most common errands can be run without needing to resort to a car, and plenty of businesses are especially nearby. Downtown benefits from a great public transit system. The neighborhood is served by over 100 bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually very close. Cars are also a reasonably good transportation option in this area. It is a very short drive to the closest highway, such as Interstate 5, from anywhere in Downtown.

What's it like to live in Downtown?

Downtown is a great part of Seattle for home buyers who enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. It is very easy to find dynamic streets in this part of the city. Numerous entertainment venues can be found nearby, there are often a very large number of people around, and places to go out at night are well-distributed throughout the area. The greenery in this part of the city is not particularly prominent; more specifically, residents will find that the tree canopy coverage for a lot of streets is sub-par. Nonetheless, it is very easy to reach parks from a lot of locations in the neighborhood since there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out.

What kinds of homes are available in Downtown?

The substantial percentage of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of Downtown is an important part of its character. This neighborhood offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes. Renters occupy roughly 80% of the units in the neighborhood while owners occupy the remainder. Around 45% of homes in this neighborhood were built following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1990s.

What are the schools, restaurants and shopping like in Downtown?

It is a reasonably short walk to reach primary as well as high schools from anywhere in this neighborhood. When it comes to food, it is especially convenient to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store on foot from any home in Downtown. Moreover, thanks to over 350 restaurants and over 100 cafes, Downtown is a great place in which to eat out, for instance on Yesler Way. It is also a very short distance to an excellent choice of clothing stores, for example along 4th Avenue.
