A general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short walk away in Washington Square. Moravian Street is among the best streets for food stores. Furthermore, thanks to over 250 restaurants and around 40 coffee shops, Washington Square is a great area in which to eat out. It is also a very short distance to an excellent selection of clothing stores, for instance along Sansom Street. With regards to education, in this area, residents will generally be able to reach primary as well as high schools by walking. Residents benefit from public and private high schools.

What are the best ways to get around in Washington Square?

This neighborhood does not require driving since several other modes of transportation are at the disposal of home buyers. It is especially convenient for pedestrians to get around in Washington Square; most day-to-day errands can be run on foot, and there are also a very large number of businesses in proximity. This area is especially transit friendly by reason of a multitude of nearby rapid transit stations on the Broad Street Line and Market Frankford Line, and around 20 nearby bus lines. On the other hand, driving is a rather limited means of transportation in this part of Philadelphia. Nevertheless, it is a short car ride to the closest highway from any home in this neighborhood.
