"The sidewalks are wide and there are also parks and green spaces in the neighborhood. A lot of residents are dog owners. "

"Friendly neighbors, neighborhood gathering like nowhere else in town. You might encounter some vagrants, but they usually keep to themselves. Might be intimidating to some. Need to have an open mind, not racist or homophobic. There's always a neighbor ready to help, even if you don't know them. "

"I love living here. The friendly people and real community feel are what really set it apart from any neighborhood I’ve ever lived in in Jacksonville. People I didn’t even know let us borrow decorations, patio heaters, even a golf cart for our wedding in Klutho Park last winter. I’m so glad it is starting to draw younger families, cool events, and more businesses to the area."

"Historic Springfield is a vibrant, diverse neighborhood. Although the houses are gorgeous, the best part about it is the people. This is a place where you truly know your neighbors. "

"I've lived in the neighborhood for 5 years now, and my wife & I love it. It's a true "transitional" neighborhood, turning from crumby to trendy, with an eclectic mix of residents, lifestyles, and demographics. You'll find a little bit of everything here, and we like it that way. : ) The main commerical areas (Main Street and 8th Street) have some good cafes and store,s but are mostly barren. However, sprinkled throughout the neighborhood are a number of very cool and unique cafes and offices. The community is very tight knit and active, both socially and civically. There's always a social gathering going on, and always an issue to rally behind. Being so close to Downtown jaxs, it's an easy jog of bicycle ride to the riverwalk, entertainment, Jaguars games, Art Walk, etc. Check out www.myspringfield.org for more info about the Springfield historic district - the community website.
