The car is usually the preferred transportation option in Highlands. It is a rather short car ride to the closest highway, such as Interstate 95, from anywhere in this neighborhood, and it is very convenient to access a place to park. In contrast, the public transit service in Highlands is not very frequent. Thankfully, residents are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. It is inconvenient for people walking to navigate this part of Jacksonville because most day-to-day needs are at times difficult to meet on foot.
