Driving is very often the preferred mode of transportation in this area. Coming across a place to park is easy. However, Deerwood is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and most properties are close to a bus stop. This area is not very conducive to walking because very few daily errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle.

Deerwood is reasonably quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic - however some parts can be quite noisy, especially closer to State Highway 9A.
