<p><em><strong>BED-STUY—</strong></em>This Sunday, bring your rarely-worn clothes to the Macon Library for a neighborhood-wide clothing swap. If the promise of free clothes alone doesn't intrigue you, let the Bed-Stuy blog <a href="http://www.bedstuyblog.com/2009/02/02/clothing-swap-at-macon-library/">make its case</a>: "Clothes swapping combines ethical shopping, bargain hunting and social networking. Clothing swaps are an excellent, eco-friendly way to keep clothing circulating through the community and extending their usefulness and lifetime." Also: Free clothes. The event starts at <strong>noon</strong> at <strong>361 Lewis Ave at Macon Street.</strong> [Bed-Stuy Blog]</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.nypost.com/seven/09242008/news/regionalnews/cops_taser_deranged_nake_man_130563.htm"><img alt="Brooklyn man tasered by NYPD" title="Brooklyn man tasered by NYPD" style="border: 0pt none ; margin: 5px; height: 278px; width: 308px;" src="http://images.trulia.com/blogimg/5/1/1/1/185146_1222306061700_b.jpg" align="left"></a>This afternoon in Bed-Stuy…</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The NYPD arrived at Tompkins Avenue because a nude, psychologically
disturbed man was incoherently ranting from a fire escape. The officers yelled
at him to get down. The man responded by poking one officer with a long fluorescent
light bulb. The officers responding by shooting him with a taser gun several
times. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Obviously, the man fell down to the sidewalk.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Tragically, he fell on his head and died.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><a href="http://www.nypost.com/seven/09242008/news/regionalnews/cops_taser_deranged_nake_man_130563.htm">Fortunately,
the NYPD’s shocking behavior was caught on tape.</a></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Considering he was naked, they knew he was unarmed.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Considering
he was raving, they knew he was unstable.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Considering all the
witnesses and evidence, I hope serious action is taken against the offending
officers. </p>
