We spent the weekend getting the info together that we were asked for, and began filling out a loan app, but were also surprised to have been contacted by 2 realtors – one recommended by each lender.

I understand that it's a good idea to have more than one broker so we're able to feel them out and compare the specs they come back to us with, but should we really get into it with two separate realtors? They both sounded very interested in helping us and know the area "like the back of their hands," but it feels weird that at some point we'd have to say "Sorry, we're going with a different realtor"... especially if they'd done quality work in bringing us closer to finding our home!

So what's the etiquette when it comes to multiple realtors? When is the right point to make a descision on one?

Mon, 7 Jan 2008 17:55:18 PST

Another question tonight – The Loan Application!

http://www.trulia.com/voices/Home_Buying/Another_question_tonight_The_Loan_Application_-17970

My husband and I are first time homebuyers in the process of selecting a mortgage broker. We have talked to two separate brokers who both came highly recommended by friends and family, and are very helpful and personable so far!

My question is: One of the brokers asked us to complete a Residential Loan Application which we are in the midst of filling out as we speak. I would imagine we would do this twice – one for each of the prospective brokers – then the rates, etc. they each come back to us with after submitting the application will be what we base our decision on, correct?

It's a hefty amount of info to find and provide twice, that's why I ask if we're going about this the right way. Should we have already chosen the broker before this application process? Or are we on the right track?

Thanks in advance!

Mon, 7 Jan 2008 18:43:44 PST

In today's housing market, how low can I bid on a $649k house in Jefferson Park that's all new construction?

http://www.trulia.com/voices/Home_Buying/In_today_s_housing_market_how_low_can_I_bid_on_a_-11412

Thu, 18 Oct 2007 13:20:27 PDT

What's the rate of new construction in Jeffferson Park?
