Home in question is an REO, 2500 sq ft, 5 bdrm, 2-story in good condition, asking price $225,000. I'm using a buyers agent who I also happen to be renting from currently (there's your first "hmm"). So about three weeks ago I make an offer on the property with a pre-approval from Wells-Fargo for $225,000 plus closing costs and an $11,000 credit for a new roof to get rid of the shakes. Although the property was listed as "active" on the MLS before my offer and went to "contingent" the day after I made the offer, my agent tells me that there are suddenly 15 offers on the property. So the bank accepts another offer after calling highest and best and I don't get the house, but now after two weeks it's back on the market at $215,000! Does anyone else smell fish here or is it just me?

Sat, 17 May 2008 08:26:34 PDT

Could you please clarify what the difference is between closing cost and escrow cost. Howecver Just 2 days ago we got a notice of trustees sale and the property will be sold on July 1st. i know that it is illegal to collect rent on a foreclosed property, and I have asked them to return all my money or im reporting them to the DRE, Consumer Affairs, BBB, and all news stations. What they have done is commit fraud because I signed a year lease. My questions are, I asked for moving expenses because now because of their negligence I have to move out of 2 homes, because Im not completely out of my old home yet? I wanted to offer $160,000 as it needed some work. My agent said she thought it would be a good offer. As we were leaving the house, there were 2 other agents and clients waiting to see the house. She says aloud, "I don't think $160,000 is going to be enough." One of the other agents says, "Yeah, I agree."
This seemed inappropiate to me. She tells me we will just have to keep on looking. She calls the next day & tells me that she thinks I should put the offer in anyway. She says I will have a real clean offer so I might have a chance. She mentions that she wants to talk to the selling agent to find out if they have had any other offers. She emails me the offer so I can become familiar with it before signing. She calls the next day & says she talked to the agent & they are expecting offers at $180,000 so why waste time and submit the offer.
Is it common for the agent to ask about other potential offers & then not want to submit my offer?

Sun, 17 May 2009 11:57:11 PDT

We just opened escrow on a home.
