The difference is property taxes for the 2 homes because of the sq footage. Please advise which is a good buy. Both are located 2 miles of I78 and 0.5 miles off 222 Bypass and are 8.5 years old and well kept. Does the finished basement with higher property taxes HAS more value than the other in the long run(i mean 3-4 years down the line)..

I am hitting a bunch of dead ends when calling the banks. I know Memphis is a big word of mouth city, but you have to get your name out there somehow. My parents co-own a large window, door, and millwork company and I hope to use this to my advantadge when bidding jobs. I am just wanting to utilize my time and effort to the fullest right now and make sure I am headed in the right direction. Should I be contacting banks? Maybe real estate investment guys, real estate agents, or firms, or all of the above. I have been looking through real estate options. Seems the only homes with taxes in my range are sold "As Is." I am seeking a price quote including the following updates: New: Septic, Plumbing, Heating/Cooling Systems, Roof, Electricity,Foundation updates(if applicable),Floors(3-4 BR home), Doors, Molding, Windows, Two Bathrooms, Kitchen, and new driveway. Also a bit of landscaping for about 1 acre of land. Not looking to go extreme, just basic, reliable updates that will last 20 or more years.

Thanks for Reading.

Across the back I have a dining room, kitchen and family room (kitchen and family room are open). In front of the dining room is the living room. I work from home now and my bedroom is really cramped because I use it as my home office too. I hope to sell my home in 3 years or so, and I want to begin making upgrades and changes that will increase the value. Do buyers want a dining room, or would it be OK to close it off? It is not a large room; I think it is about 13 x 14. I live in Ohio. My home is a basic 2 story.

When I watch the home shows on TV, the upgrades they show are not only waaaaay out of my budget, but would also be too much for my area. I have formica countertops in the kitchen and bathroom, vinyl flooring in kitchen, dining, hall and baths. Carpet in living room, family room, stairs upstairs hallway and bedrooms. My kitchen and bathroom cabinets are a medium oak with an inset panel in the center. My doors and woodwork are all a lighter wood color (a little lighter than the cabinets) and made of pressed wood (ick, couldn't afford the upgrade to real wood). I want to start planning and making upgrades to increase the value, but I need to be very budget conscous. I am great at looking for and finding bargains! I just need some ideas.

Thanks!

Sat, 27 Jun 2009 13:03:23 PDT

How much does a garage roof deck in a chicago city limits single family home add to the value of the home?

http://www.trulia.com/voices/Remodel_and_Renovate/How_much_does_a_garage_roof_deck_in_a_chicago_city-127200

Thu, 21 May 2009 13:40:00 PDT
