I've heard that Bank of America has been sitting on a lot of homes that have gone into foreclosure and are just starting to put them on the market. Just have your agent keep their eyes on the MLS. Trying to buy a house at a sheriffs sale can be risky. I've seen in our area homes that have been purchased back by the bank at the sheriffs sale, then go back on the market 6 months later for thousands less.... more
Your credit score is a little low and the work history is in question as well. My advice would be to get with a couple of lenders and have them check things out for you. You will want to be pre-qualified for a loan before you start looking for a home anyway. You will need to know the payment amount and the purchace price range you are looking for up front. Most lease purchase homes are not listed as lease purchase, they are sellers who can not sell their homes quick enough but need to move now. Working with a buyer broker who is expereinced in rent to own can help make calls and inquiries from listing agents whose sellers may be interested in this.
I grew up in St. Anthony and my parents still live there. St. Anthony is a great place to raise kids if you like doing stuff outdoors. St. Anthony has the most awesome swimming and fishing river in the world running right through the middle of town. Kids can walk or ride bikes to school or to the grocery store no problem.
