A power of attorney (POA) could bestow your attorney with the ability to execute documents on your husband's behalf. However the last time I checked, lenders want your physical signature on the mortgage papers and not a POA. Check with your mortgage lender to see what your options are. Also, you may be able to refinance solely in your name and avoid him signing at all. Good luck!... more
Well Matty your question is one I hear on a regular basis from people who are not familiar with Ocean Grove...however I can tell you if you live here during the Summer and reside on Main Ave. parking will be extremely difficult because of the slotted spots that day timers try to take. Living on the North Side or the South side does not present a problem. Ocean Grove is a quite town...therefore after 7:00pm things quite down day timers leave. Most people that live in The Grove leave their cars in front of their homes and either walk or ride bikes around town....thats what makes it such a great place to live.... more
2004 was great.... houses were selling at a brisk pace. too bad the greedy lenders had everyone refinance and took their equity leaving them now with houses they owe more on than they are worth.... more
There is a train station in Bradley Beach and another in Asbury Park. Both towns are very close (about 5 minutes away, by car). Depending on where in Ocean Grove, you could walk to the Asbury train stop. I have been told it is a 1.5 hour train ride to Manhattan, but I'm sorry to say I don't know the cost.... more
Ocean Grove is a safe town, but not much to do. The shopping district is ok, but not many shops devoted to kids. Towns like Spring Lake, Mansquan, and Belmar have better shopping districts as far as shopping directed toward teenagers is concerned.
My kids were in the junior guard program and I never remember there being a team from Ocean Grove, but that was a few years ago. Spring Lake and Mansquan offer surfing lessons during the summer, too. Belmar hosts sand castle building contests and also hosts the pro volleyball tour.
I don't really think there are a lot of kids living in OG. It seems to be more geared towards adults. Ocean Grove holds a nice summer concert series, but generally the entertainment is geared towards older folks. They also have a great flea market 2X a year, but again, it's antiques and not items that would appeal to the kids.
Hopefully some other locals will chime in on this one. Feel free to reach out to me via my website where you can find additional demographics for Ocean Grove and the other shore towns.... more
