Jodi, it's impossible to answer your question definitively without seeing the full mortgage application... and those sorts of personal details don't belong in a public forum.
Speaking generally, if you have two Pre-Approval letters, that is an encouraging sign.
Question for you: When you obtained the Pre-Approval letters, how much information did you supply to the lenders? Verbal answers about income, assets, and employment... or two years of W-2s, recent pay stubs & bank statements, and about a zillion pages of loan documents to sign?
Has the mortgage sales rep at the lender called you at all since you "sent in all the documents over 1 week ago"? You should have received at MINIMUM two calls from him/her - one acknowledging receipt (and verifying completeness) of the docs and a seond one with an estimated turn timr for initial underwriting.... more
