My husband used to do grass cutting for boank owned properties. DH's friend worked at the bank, he knew we needed the extra cash, and he called and asked if DH would be interested in cutting the lawns.
So I think you could contact the mortgage managers and see if they need anyone.

I assume you are inquiring about a Sheriffs sale or tax sale? Typically you cannot get into these properties unless they are listed with a Realtor, so your Realtor can check it out for you. When you buy a property at auction, you need to have your financing pre-approved, because you must be able to close on it if you are the highest bidder. There is often a requirement for a substantial deposit as well. I would recommend going to a lender and getting a pre-approval for a loan that will include money for fixing the property, commonly known as a rehab (rehabilitation) loan. An FHA 203(k) loan is a good example of this type of loan. As far as finding out more about the property, you should be able to check the Delaware County property records to see what is on file about this property, and there is also a county site that lists the upcoming Sheriff and tax sales.
