To me, a 2-unit dwelling would be a property that had one dwelling upstairs and a second downstairs. I've seen those in New York, where they're common in Staten Island, etc. The property may have originally been constructed as a single family home.

It is for sale but has many issues dealing with code. The current owner had a partnership with another person. They illegally built on some levels which may not be grandfathered in. It supposedly comes with several acres which could be developed. There is also another catch: An nuderground powerline must be installed which will run about $1 million. A client of mine was very close to pulling off this deal and walked away as there were way too many variables.... more
