Can my cousin, who lives in san francisco, be my cosigner for an apt in LA?
That should be acceptable as long as the landlord is okay with it (it's not bizarre).

Have you looked at Torrance and or Westchester? Both areas have resonable rentals. Stay away from beach areas generally they are in high demand and higher in rent.

Is there such a thing as a 2 bedroom apt. ANYWHERE on the West Side, close to Culver City perhaps that's between $1200 & $1400?
Can you get a rental agent to help you? I don't live in the area anymore, but know the area. Try www.Rentals.com, www.ForRent.com, even Craigslist. Best of luck . . .

Make a police report and depending on the value (if under $10,000) sue in small claims.
