Yes, you heard correctly. Doing nothing the first 3 to 6 months to let the house grow on you. See how the light comes in the windows. Get a feel for the flows of the home and your family traffic. Do you really want to enlarge the bathroom and take out the hall linen closet? This is especially true with the landscaping. Get a feel for the Summer heat and the setting sun.
Of course if a buyer is flipping a home you cannot wait. However, if you plan to live in a home it might be better to wait rather than say in a year, "Why did I do that"......"It seemed like the right thing to do at the time".
