Alma and Summit Ridge are different types of communites,both are located in Walnut Creek and thats about the only thing that they have in common. Alma are newer construction Condos in the middle of downtown ,very close to the freeway and if your unit is facing it that direction its quite loud.
Summit ridge is on the edge of Walnut Creek near the Lafayette Border and are older townhomes on two or three levels and backs on to the open space with access to the walking trails.If you want to get to downtown Walnut Creek you will more than likely be using a car.The free way access to HIghway 24 is about a mile away and can not be heard.
I do know of a 3/2 townhouse in Summit Ridge that will be coming on the market in about 3 weeks, it backs
directly on the open space and has great views, please contact me if you would like more information on it,

In case you are still looking for a Summit Ridge/Beacon Ridge rental here is some market information. The last two rentals posted are both for July 2010 and the prices are $2450 and $2495 for a 3 bedroom 2 bath 1976 square foot unit in Beacon Ridge and a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath unit in Summit Ridge respectively. Currently there are no active lease rentals for townhouses in those complexes listed on the MLS.
