This is sometimes an overlooked aspect of a home search, It is always a good idea to check the property walk score before buying. Some like high scores and others like low scores. I lean toward high scores but some look specifically for low ones. If you are not familiar with what a walk score is read http://chooseahomenow.com/search-walkability-of-homes-for-sale... more
It might also be worth considering Amazon Fresh home delivery. They cover Belltown and you can select your delivery time.

As a native New Yorker, I proclaim(!) that Seattle is actually a cosmopolitan city with strong cultural influences from the six continents. Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe, South America and North American culture is well-represented here: music, food, art, theater, sport, and more.
Seattle isn't really a "capital" of anything in particular, it is simply a place where there is a lot of first-rate, rocking "stuff" to eat, see, do, and play.... more
Alki Beach is always a favorite destination for kids in the summer, even if they live here. They love to rent the beach bikes which can seat up to 4 people and ride along the water front. Have an ice cream cone from Pepper dock's just across from the main beach and the landing of the Seafair pirates and the beach fair is always a great time. If the beach gets old just a couple blocks away is Whale Tail Park with a big sculpture of a whale tail that kid's love to climb on and plenty of other play structures as well as a tennis court & play field.
The West Seattle farmers market on Sunday's is always a great time for both parents & kid's offering great local growers and entertainment with street musicians. If this doesn't help to entertain them you can always head a little south of the main junction and enjoy a stroll through Lincoln Park a huge park with walking & biking trails, several play fields, tennis courts, multiple kid's play structures as well as a great tire swing on the south end. They can take a walk down one of the trails to the beach and find a great time playing at Colmon Pool Seattle only salt water pool that sits right on the sound. It gives the grownups a great place to relax and enjoy the view while the kid's play in the pool and ride the big twirling slide into the pool. There is plenty of adventure and fun to be had in West Seattle as a kid and I have just touched on a few. If you would like to hear about more feel free to contact me. Enjoy the day! Ginny... more
