Not every landlord will do a background check, but there are companies that do check those things for perspective tenants (my company just signed up for those services for our listings/landlords). Past evictions, homeland security threats or criminal records will show up.....along with credit reports and job verification.
This doesn't mean that a landlord will automatically reject someone because of having a record....most landlords are more interested in whether you have the ability to pay the rent (enough income) and have a good history of paying rent and other bills on time.
Some landlords will only ask for credit checks and job verification.
Good luck................ more
Are you talking about Section 8 housing? What area of town and what price range?

Surprisingly, it's good to start 6 months before the end of your lease. Get yourself pre-approved first to know what you can truly afford. Then meet with 2 or 3 agents to find a good fit and understands your personality and lifestyle. Open houses are a great way to meet agents with no pressure.... more
Both my sons attend Churchill High School so we live very nearby. Is your question referring to a home to purchase or a rental? It is not quite clear.

OK fast action is what is required in the rental market today. What size, how many bedrooms, garage number type, area you want to livein good access to the areas you use i.e school, business, social activity, health, schools etc. Then price range you are looking for. this is where we start. We then send you a list of properties to look at on line mark interested, not interested, and maybe with you comments on why you did not like a paticularl property, as well as things of a property that was not the right one buy had a feature you likes. Now after this search I can really find you what you want.
Buyers Agents like me do this for a living, and have it down to a science, and can quickly know what you want, and find it for you. Feel free to call anytime cell 210-557-6038

s there any way I can talk you into taking advantage of what will probably be the best buyer's market we may ever see in our lifetimes?
The market is rapidly turning into a seller's market
Interest rates are WAY DOWN, but they are headed up
If you buy a home now:
* You will get more for your money - Rentals never stack up to homes you can buy for the same payment
* Tax Write-off - You can write off the interest you pay on your mortgage, you can't do that with rent
* Build Equity in the home - Each time you make a payment, you are that much closer to owning it!
* Gain Appreciation - Homes tend to go up in value... the home is worth more than you bought it for!
If you rent a home: You get nothing!
