It's really up to you and how your family spends their time here. Some people feel that it's completely worth it to be that close to the ocean and are willing to spend what it takes to get that. They swim, boat, and spend all their time on the beach. It's probably worth it to them. Others would rather trade the view for more privacy, larger piece of land, and lower insurance costs. The difference in price may not be quite that high either, it really depends on the area. Sometimes you can buy a condo with a view instead of a home and save money that way. Happy to help you with your home search :)

It's difficult to immagine a bad area in the Cape. One very valid concern, as you are probably aware, it traffic during the high season. There are areas that could be very difficult to get in and out of. This should be an awareness as well as road noise. As you travel further out on the Cape traffic tends to thin out. Your target area is in possibly the most congested location.
We have been going there for 50 years. Even though there have been major changes, the appeal is still fantastic.

Looking for short term is difficult this time of year. All of the agents I know only rent yearly, weekly or in the winter months. You can try Craigslist or call some of the bigger rental companies -Davenport. They may be able to point you in a better direction. http://www.davenportrealty.com/cape-cod-homes-rent.asp... more
