If you are asking if remodeling your current pool and adding a shelf to the steps for little ones to play in, then it will be an added benefit to the rental unit for those that like to have little ones play on the shallow step, or someone that likes to sit there and sun, then yes. It will add value. I would suggest keeping an area to one side of the pool open so that those who like to swim laps still can.
If you are asking if you will get more rent for the home due to the shelf, then I would say probably not, or not much. But as with any rental, if the home is in its best condition or has amenities that people will like, then you will rent it quicker, keep people longer and get the top end of rents for that specific home.
