Only if prices continue to rise. Land may never be the best investment. You can not rent it or lease without water & electricity so there is no return on your investment while you wait for prices to go up. You will have property taxes to pay and if you don't have rental income that makes your land an expense until you sell! I know this because I held onto land for 5 years in a great location in Temecula and all it did was cost me money. You also have to maintain weeds for fire hazard and safety if it is near homes. That is one more annual expense. So my advise is NO! If its not rentable and there is no structure, gas, water, electric, etc then it may end up costing you more money than you make.... more
