Betsy, great question regarding the best self-storage facility near Washington Blvd. Have you had a chance to stop by some of the storage facilities? Doing some initial research via the internet can help get you started. I would assume that visiting a few different facilities to take a tour and find out prices could prove fruitful. Good luck, I wish you the best! http://www.rt22selfstorage.com... more
Hi Lawrence, yes event though you have investment property rentals already you can still use an FHA loan to purchase your own primary residence (1-4 units). Because you already own rental properties, the underwriter may apply a little extra scrutiny to make sure you will be moving into one of the units, but as long as it's a legit transaction then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If you are purchasing a 3-4 unit property with FHA financing there are a few extra guidelines to be aware of, including needing 3 months PITI in reserves still available after closing, and the property must be self-sufficient (85% of all of units rents must not be less than the proposed PITI payment) so this may create a larger down payment requirement than just 3.5% (it just depends on the rental amounts & the proposed housing payment).
Living in a multi-unit property can really reduce your own housing expenses, as there is nothing like your tenants paying your mortgage for you. I help people in situations like these all of the time so feel free to get in touch with me if you'd like assistance.

That is a great question. I actually asked the same question when I bought my home last year. It all depends on the current price of the fuel. The price of oil tends to fluctuate quite a bit. Right now, oil is really really cheap. However, propane maintains about the same price. Although, during the Obama administration, propane prices have been higher than ever before. I am not blaming it on him or the administration, it is just the time frame we are looking at.

When it comes to any safety/crime related issues, it's always best to contact the local authorities with all your questions, hear all there is to hear firsthand. If unfamiliar with the area(s) do revisit more than once and at different times of day, possibly chat with locals/neighbors. Real estate professionals are prohibited from steering, enticing a buyer to purchase/rent, or not, in specific neighborhoods.
You should speak with a representative from the mortgage industry about this rather than a real estate agent. Scott Dana of NEMoves Mortgage in Milford and Marion Szarzynski of HomeBridge Financial Services in Rocky Hill are excellent contacts for obtaining such information.... more
First call out the Realtor in question to get all the facts. Go then to the designated Broker of that agency to see if you can get satisfaction. Your next approach would be the local Board of Realtors, then the State Real Estate Commission. Ethics violations are taken seriously, so be sure you have your facts straight before moving forward.... more
The units being built sadly are apartments not condos... we wish there were more condos being built as they market could really use the new construction added to the roster of sales... The area is Harbor point and it is cleaning up that area real nice!... more
