I have lived in 7 different states before moving to AZ 20+ years ago. I remember in some states we had water restrictions for example not to wash cars on our property etc. It is surprising that living in a desert, we don't have any water usage restriction except for being conscious of not wasting water, and planting native desert style vegetation that use low water and are on drip system mostly in more newer areas of Scottsdale.... more
Depends on what part of town you are in. If it's an area of high crime, I would recommend installing a packaged roof top unit instead of the split system.
As others have mentioned, if it's a split system, you would prefer to have the condenser unit installed on a shaded side of the home and away from any trees where it might accumulate debris. Also, you would want to make sure that it can receive adequate ventilation, so not to close to perimeter walls.... more
