You're looking in a great location. The Shongum schools are excellent and the commute is good because you're by major roads.
I would (personally) probably take Sussex Turnpike all the way to the 202 - you come out right by the rail station. I've been that way around 8.30am and of course there is significant traffic at that time - but the distance is short. I would have thought that if you're taking a 7am train that you'll be fine.
Let me know if you would like any assistance on the area.
Shannon, you need to reside in Morris Plains in order to obtain a parking permit for their train parking lot.
I can't say what time you'd have to arrive to get a daily spot - if any exist. Hopefully, a commuter can answer that for you.
I looked into this for a client of mine last year. I called the town hall, and a very nice person gave me the number of a local church, only a couple of blocks from the train. The church was 'selling' parking spots in their lot. My buyer did pay for a spot, , as she moved to Parsippany, just over the border of Morris Plains, and didn;t qualify for a town space. She is very happy with this arrangement.
I will be happy to see if I can find that phone number, and will pass it on to you. Perhpas there are remaining spots available.
