I have not heard of any chinese drywall problems in this community, but the only way to know for sure would be to have it professionally tested. Many inspection companies look for signs of chinese drywall in their general inspection and if they see signs that indicate the presence, they will recommend to you that you have further verification.
Hope this was helpful and good luck! If I can assist you in your search, I'd be happy to.... more

There are many very nice neighborhoods for children with respect to schools. I would suggest you start by going the Collier County School Website and study the different schools and what their strengths are and then look for neighborhoods in that school zone.
Here is the link for the Collier County Schools: http://www.collierschools.com/schools/

The new models are always your competition in subdivisions being built. Unless the cost of new has gone up a lot you will have to hunt for the person that sees the value in yours over new. The fact you have window dressing and landscaping will help you if it's done nicely.... more
Naples has several flood zone designations, but you will want to know which flood zones carry mandatory flood insurance. The majority of Collier County rests between five and twenty-five feet above sea level on mostly flat land. This raises the possibility of flooding after very heavy rainfalls or storms in particular areas.
If you are interested in purchasing a property, there is a way for you to find out online in which specific flood zone the home is located in. However, you must first understand what the various letters associated with the flood zones mean. You should also know that flood insurance is not required if you are buying your property with cash, although it is highly recommended that you obtain insurance. If you are mortgaging a property, then a lender may require that you obtain flood insurance as a condition of the loan, regardless whether the structure is located in the most favorable flood zone.
Flood zones on the coastal and beach areas are most at risk after a heavy storm and hence also carry the highest costs. These are designated as "V" flood zones.
"A" designated areas can also be affected by flooding, while "X" is designated for areas that are higher than the 100 year flood line. This means that there is a 1% risk of flooding. "X" is the most desirable area to be in if flooding or flood insurance is of major concern to you. "X" flood zones carry the lowest insurance rates.
If you intend to mortgage your property with a federally insured loan and the structure of your home is located on "X" but the perimeter of say, a swimming pool merely touches an "A" or "V" zone, then you are required to obtain flood insurance.
To find out in which flood zone a particular property is located in, check out the FEMA DFIRM Flood Zone Map for Collier County and input the property's address in the top right corner.
If you have not already located a property, check out http://www.naplesdwell.com

Cypress Trace is in Cypress Woods Golf & Country Club. Cypress Trace has two small community pools in the neighborhood. The main pool is at the clubhouse. It is larger and there is also a lap pool. This is a bundled golf community.
You might also want to check out Heritage Bay Golf & Country Club, if you are golfers.

You''ll love living here in Naples! I certainly don't miss those Boston winters!
Please note a cat may be your most challenging obstacle to a rental or RTO. If you don't have one yet, you may want to reconsider!
Also challenging is what you may consider a "reasonable price" as January for up to 6mo is right in the highest season months for rent amounts.
Rest of information on needs can be met, assuming we can find one that is available. Inventory is quite low. Many of our renters and others in general have been buying over the past 2 years -- and now using the homes. So very limited, and booked up early.
Also note that most communities will require a credit and background check.
Feel free to send me your email and I'd be happy to help a fellow MA person come enjoy our paradise. I can send you any presently -- and set you up to automatically receive emails with any new ones that come on the market.
