The good news is that you are not alone. Many people have bad credit but a decent income. I would start by putting together your strongest package. You package should include: Pay stubs, bank statements, rental application, letter from current or previous landlord, references, credit report and an explanation of why your credit is the way that it is. It will be up to the landlord or property management company if they will take a chance on you. You can also offer to pay an increased deposit or several months in advance rent.
