I recommend that you discuss your situation with a good general home inspector and yes, I have several that I will suggest. They can clarfiy the services they can provide, and recommend others based on your needs/goals. I think a tank "sweep" will require a specialist and the inspector can recommend one. As far as lead paint, the inspection can be costly, but here too, the inspector can guide you. I'd also suggest pest/wood destroying insects - inspector will have an exterminator he uses or may have a license himself. And also ask about radon, if you've got a basement, good idea, especially if it will be used as living/storage space.
The inspector will clarify options, costs, and make suggestions.
