Another very important consideration is how close do you want to be from your work place. How many bedrooms and bathrooms would you need? Do you prefer one story homes, an apartment, a closed community, etc.
Finding a property under $200k may be possible, but further definition is needed to find the best spot for you.

Lenders require at least a 620 middle credit for a VA mortgage these days. Some even require a 640 or better.
The other concern is getting your "loan" approved through an automated underwriting system (AUS) with a score under 620 because they've been tightened up. If you're not approved through an AUS, your file is downgraded to a manual underwrite and those guidelines are more restrictive making it more difficult to get a final approval.
You may want to work with a mortgage professional that can help you bring your scores up first. It could be something simple like paying down your credit card balances and doing a rapid re-score to get your scores up in 2-3 days.

Consumer reporting companies must investigate the items you question within 30 days. They also must forward all the relevant data you provide about the inaccuracy to the organization that provided the information. After the information provider receives notice of a dispute from the consumer reporting company, it is required to investigate, review the relevant information, and report the results back to the consumer reporting company.
