Berkeley County (in the Eastern Panhandle of WV) is a mecca of government jobs. You can go to www.usajobs.gov and search for Martinsburg, WV. You will encounter a plethora of open positions with the government. Within a short drive, we have FEMA (in Winchester), US Coast Guard, Internal Revenue Service, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (all in Martinsburg area). We have several industries including Guardian Fiberglass, Orgill, Macy's Distribution Center (who will be hiring soon for Christmas help). I know many folks who work at Royal Vendors (next county over), American Public University, etc.
