I would recommend renting your property to gain income while awaiting to sell it. This opens up options for the buyer as the property is already creating income. The buyer will have the option of honoring the original lease or providing proper notice to current renters. I am selling my home of only 1 year in Marion due to the economy and moving for work. My home on 2181 Agate Street is less than a mile from the High School and a quarter mile from the middle school. The home was on the "Parade of Homes" and has many upgrades due to that status. It has a sump pump and is NOT in a flood plain. The builder installed it as a form of protection, not out of necessity. Thanks for your reply! I'm of the opinion that a house is poorly placed or poorly designed if one is needed. In one area in Ohio, they are mandatory because the houses were put in a 100-year floodplain. Not good planning.... more
Good question and the answer is, it depends. Age, area and quality of the home have a lot to do with price point. Your agent can assist you in determining an average based on similar homes which sold in the area which you are looking.... more
