Hover over the property values in this zip code. You will soon notice that in the neighbor hood north of Atlantic Blvd that is surrounded on two sides by Miller Creek and the St. John's River that the values triple and sometimes quadruple the homes only 2-10 blocks away. Crime stays out of our neighborhood. I've lived here since 2010, and have heard of nothing except when someone did not lock their car door and had a CD and some loose change stolen at night (likely some random kids). That happens in the suburbs all of the time. This little neighborhood nestled between Bishop Kenny High School to the west, Atlantic Blvd to the south, several blocks past Miller Creek to the east and the St. John's River to the north is the definition of a diamond in the rough. Try getting an appraiser to give you an appraisal. The comments you get are, "Almost impossible to find a comparison because these homes normally are passed down within families and don't sell." Waterfront property in Jacksonville is mighty hard to come by these days. Especially this close to downtown Jacksonville, historic San Marco and Everbank Field. St. John's county public schools will be as bad as the rest once the new neighborhoods get watered down with time. Give it 10 years. Terry Parker and Englewood were great schools 20-30 years ago. It's all cyclic.... more
Jacksonville, with the land areas of 885 square miles, is the largest city by area in the contiguous United States, and it is also the largest city by population in the state of Florida. In the recent years, even through the struggling economy, Jacksonville has continued to attract a talented workforce here and the population has continued to grow each year.
Every big city has some negative issues, that does not mean that everything about that city is negative. Depending on where you choose to live in or around Jacksonville, you can get the “big city feel” or the “small town feel”.
As far as your question about schools, St. Johns County (county south of Jacksonville) has some top rated schools: http://www.greatschools.org/florida/st-augustine/St.-Johns/... more
I have great advice to offer! If your looking at relocating to the Jacksonville area, First things first do you have a moving company? If you do not then may i suggest All My Sons Moving & Storage. We offer Door to Door service, Literally!. All My Sons offers long distance moving and we are virtually located all over the country, so there is no hassle. Moving can be stressful at its best. If we can take that off your shoulders it would be our pleasure.
If you are looking for a safe place to live one of them would have to be a gated, guarded, high-cost apartment complex in St. John's County. Another place is St. Vincent's in Riverside/Avondale. either of them are not beside each other they are on either side of the Jax area, but just to have a wide span on safe places depending on what side of Jacksonville you are deciding to move to, Lake Mandarin is another safe place we would suggest. Those are some options for you to consider.
Are you shopping for a Home? It may seem backwards to shop for a mortgage before you shop for the house, but there are several reasons for doing this. Shopping for a mortgage will also help if you can get “pre-approved” for the amount you’d like to borrow. This means the lender has looked over your credit and financial statement and agreed to lend you the money. Sellers like pre-approved buyers because there’s less risk the deal won’t go through. First, you’ll find out how much you can borrow, which has a lot to do with how much house you can buy.

The beaches north of the St. Johns River are real nice and so are the beaches in St. Johns County. In Jacksonville there are some very nice areas in which to make your home. It just depends on what you would like to spend.
My biggest complaints about the "Beaches" of Duval County are the lack of free parking and the crowds.

First I would begin by talking to a lender and getting pre-approved for a loan. This will definitely help you focus your search, and make things easier once you find a home you want to purchase. If you don't have a lender in mind, I would be happy to suggest a few to you.
Second, there are many homes with pools on the market in many different price ranges, so once you know your price point, it will be much easier to determine what your money will buy. And there are still some short sales and foreclosures on the market in Jacksonville that are good values, if you don't mind purchasing a "fixer-upper".
If you are not already working with a realtor, I would love to talk with you more. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.

The Peninsula is a secure, high-rise on the St. Johns River that has a concierge service to help navigate the vastness of Duval County. I lived there while in transit to Minneapolis and enjoyed walking to San Marco and across the Main Street Bridge to the Landing to eat shashimi and kimchi soup at Koja's Sushi Bar; Best in Jax! But to answer the question, San Marco and Riverside will be the shortest commute, but St. John's Towncenter has the best offerings for a young professional; shopping, restaurants, rentals, and nightlife.... more
If you plan on moving in April it may be best to wait until beginning or mid March. Typically applications are only good for 30- 45 days but it depends on the company. If you are looking for a particular area or certain square footage give me call at 904-993-1653, or email at email@example.com and I could make your search much easier.... more
If you go to this listing and scroll down to "Local Info", there is a crime stats tab. It will show the crime information in that area. Zoom in on the map and hover your mouse over the black dots and they will show the date and crime committed. Near the townhouse you have above this was a crime that appears to be in the same neighborhood.

Here is a website you can enter any address into that shows neighborhood crime data. I have entered the address you are interested in.
Depending on the day you are traveling, you are looking at around 45 minutes to the beach and about 30 minutes to the airport. Again depending on the day and time you are traveling makes a huge difference. If you have any more questions feel free to call me at 904-993-1653 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.... more
