Greensboro's a great area! I moved here when I was 21 and almost 30 years later, I'm loving it just as much as I did when I first came here. The three largest cities in NC, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro are all wonderful locations with plenty to offer. It depends on what your daughter is a) accustomed and b) looking for in a place to move. All 3 are cosmopolitan enough so there's great mixture of people and a variety of things to do. To me, Greensboro has a perfect "small town" feel, but is a larger city. It's full of art, culture, food (the best in the state IMO), nightlife, outdoor activities, history and surrounded by plenty of employment and continuing education opportunities. A plus for GSO is the cost of living. It's much lower here in Triad. As of Aug 14, the average 1 bedroom runs $625 in Greensboro, as opposed to Raleigh-$759 and Charlotte-$803. Hope this helps. Good luck and best wishes as your daughter begins her new journey!... more
I have lived here in 1997 and I absolutely LOVE it.
You can check on www.indeed.com to see what jobs are available that you might be interested in. Like many areas, depending on what type of work you are looking for, the number of available positions will vary.
Well Welcome to the Triad Ebony! Greensboro is a great place to live. I moved here for college and never left. We are a few hours from the beach and the mountains, so you can enjoy either with less than a tank of gas!
We have the largest water park in NC and several parks with walking and biking trails. There are several colleges/universities right in town, so that is also great.
I would love to talk to you, please give me a call/text/email
