I would LOVE a straight answer to a simple question. I paid the house off in Jan 2012, no tax info, mortgage company doesn't do that, but I have a sneeking suspicion that a deed has been filed SOME where that wouls state "Mr so & so IS in FACT the owner of said property" but the government trail has gone cold for a leyman such as myself...frustration has set in !!... more
You can go to www.hcad.org and type in an address to find the owner or taxpayer information. If the owner name is not listed you can always write to the address given for the taxpayer and hope for a response as to the owners.
Good luck finding them!

Before working with a real estate broker, you should know that the duties of a broker depend on whom the broker represents. If you are a prospective seller or landlord (owner) or a prospective buyer or tenant (buyer), you should know that the broker who lists the property for sale or lease is the owner’s agent. A broker who acts as a subagent represents the owner in cooperation with the listing broker. A broker who acts as a buyer’s agent represents the buyer. A broker may act as an intermediary between the parties if the parties consent in writing. A broker can assist you in locating a property, preparing a contract or lease, or obtaining financing without representing you. A broker is obligated by law to treat you honestly.

Brook, I would feel uncomfortable putting an individual's name out on this forum, but you can look up on HCAD.org and search by property name. You can also send me a messege and I can send you the old listing link along with the Tax Profile Report.
If you would like sales stats for the neighborhood, let me know!
Do you need to sell or lease your existing home? I can help with that, too!... more
If you are on the deed OR you have received this property by devise, you will be able to fill our a name change form and file it with Harris County Appraisal District. If your name is on the "recorded" deed, attach a copy of the recorded deed to the name change form.
If you have inherited the property and the will has been probated, it is easier to hand carry that probated will into Harris County Appraisal District's office to finalize the addition of your name. They will be able to see the probated will on the County records.
I am assuming you are referring to homeowners insurance. Homeowners insurance is available to owners at a better annual rate than non-homeowners insurance.... more
