The breast cancer rate is VERY high in Glen Cove.. Definitely have bottled water delivered and install a water filtration system... There are neighborhoods in Glen Cove that have HUGE pockets of breast cancer.. All of this is hushed up by the community all-stars...... more
Glen Cove is not the community it used to be. If you drive around at night in the downtown area you will see what Glen Cove has become. Local politicians and community all-stars send their kids to private schools. You will see that most people who are selling their homes are getting out to move to better school districts.. I'd say out of a class of 22, 6-7 are English speaking.. We are all for a melting pot for that is what this great country is based upon.. However, the demographics of Glen Cove are no longer a melting pot. Your taxes go to English as a 2nd language, day care and entitlement programs for children of illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes.. If your kid is in a classroom with a majority of non-english speaking kids, there is no way the level of schooling is NOT compromised.. If you would like to live on the North Shore of Long Island, you should check into neighboring towns who enforce zoning and don't allow 100 illegal aliens living in a house.. The bad things in Glen Cove like the gangs, crime rate and high taxes to pay for programs are very much hushed up..... more

However, if you are worried about your information being available to the public then there is nothing you can do about that. Real Estate transactions are a public record. We've been living on Landing rd. for almost a year and I got to say that the 24/7 noise from the traffic is very anoying (Landing rd. is pretty much the only street everybody around this area takes to get out), other than that, is a nice clean neighborhood, friendly people, walking distance to nice parks and the beach.... more
If you look on the MLSLI website, under school information, you can pull up the student body composition on each school in the Glen Cove district. This should answer your question.
Glen Cove has one of the more diverse populations in Nassau County. In addition, the city has seen a revitalization in the past number of years that has improved it's appearance. Plus, there are some bargains to be had there in the housing market.... more
You can check www.mlsli.com for available rentals in Glen Head, Glen Cove or other areas of interest--for by owner rentals, check local print media, Craig's List, etc.
Many buyers and sellers want an entire library of information from years ago determine how answers may have changed from questions posted.

The commission rate is negotiable between the seller and the Realtor. If any Realtor tells you differently, they are not being truthful. You have to compare companies and services. You have to evaluate the marketing plan of each Realtor to see who is giving you the most services and the most exposure.

I'm not sure which home you are referring to. However, the last home on Southland to sell was just last week - a split level home that was on the market for a long time and sold on October 24 for $730,000. At this time, I don't see any other homes that are currently for sale on this street.
