First and foremost read through your contract with your old Broker so you understand what the contract says in regards to switching brokerages. Usually there is some language related to what the split will be and the fact that any outstanding costs owed by you to the brokerage will be taken from those closings.
It is definitely not typical for a brokerage to keep 100% of the commission. Read your contract first, then contact your old broker to figure out what's going on and if that doesn't work consult with an attorney.... more
