CORRECTION: Howard H.Gross lived at 425 W.61st Street in Englewood in the 1880s;this address was located midway between Steward Avenue(west) and Princeton Avenue(east).The present (2011) address 425 W.61st Street in Englewood is located midway between S.Normal Blvd.(west) and S.Stewart Avenue(east). Hence ,the property featured by TRULIA that I responded to is not the same building where Howard H.Gross lived in the 1880s...but can someone give me information about the extent of the Howard H.Gross subdivision in Englewood and whether it included both his former residence and his panorama studio? I have a set of Sanborn Fire Insurance maps copyrighted 1895 that show HHG's former residence, but do not show his panorama studio, which would have been a 16-sided polygon that stood five stories high...quite a sight!... more
