I would suggest you drive around and meet people.
Ask those who live there.
Interview the school professionals, coaches, etc.
Park in a neighborhood and see who notices you sitting there in your car.
Walk and talk.
The local paper (Falmouth Enterprise) publishes a weekly police report, which I read, too.
It has locations of police stops, arrests, etc. with locations.
You might find that interesting/useful.
Of course choosing a local real estate pro, like me and my wife, can help you save a lot of time.

One of the problems with sites on the Net that only sell ads or just collect email addresses to resell, is that the info on their pages is often meant to cause visitors to provide an email and name for resale to the highest bidder.
And second, they are not a news website - they are an advertising site.
When real estate professionals are out looking at property, those items and informaton are discussed.
Those are things that become part of a decision to buy or not.

The info you have mentioned is public knowledge.
No one can or tries to "not report it".
I'd spread the word to use actual real estate professionals' sites rather than ones where the correctness of the data is not as important as gathering and selling your name and email to the highest bidders.

Plume disclosures are a frightful thing to have to sign when purchasing a home. Honestly you should have been made aware of this prior to the offer, but good thing you were at least made aware. You have the right to be concerned,especially when it comes to resale. Best site for checking this out is http://www.mmr.org. When it comes to planting a garden, honestly I would be more worried with the use of chemicals in our soil from fertilizers and pesticides before the base would worry me. The base contamination has mainly effected ground water and these homes have since been put on town water. You're smart to ask these questions and I would suggest looking long and hard where you are buying. Real Estate and resale "location " location" location". Hope I helped.

Second mortgage holder already has a position on the home at the time the borrower took out the loan. As to Bankruptcy the seller will no longer need a short and it stalls the foreclosure, as a plan will be presented to the court that will outline the owners obiligations and how they will be taken care of, that once agreed on by the creditors will take effect including the home.

There are certain areas in falmouth that may rate poorly compared to the others. Like any good sized town, there are neighborhoods that are safer than others. Although, there is much beauty and it is a great place to live, Cape Cod is not immune to the ills of society.
You should contact a local Realtor when you are getting ready. The best thing to do is create a list of your desired details of both home and location, then drive the areas. You will be able to discern the better neighborhoods yourself and if still concerned, then talk to the police department about the locations.

I am a very active agent in Falmouth and I am surprised you are seeing high crime rates there. That being said, everyone's definition of 'high' is different. What websites are you using to do your research? You can use Neighborhood Scout as one example.

Its a great time to buy Real Estate on Cape Cod. I believe that with the interest rates being where they are and the properties available with motivated sellers that your timing couldn't be better.... more
