You didn't attach a link, so I don't know what exact property you're asking about. If this is a pre-foreclosure property, it's possible you're not able to see the full address. But with cross streets, I can find the exact property, get the owner's loan info & evaluate their situation to see if you could get it for a great deal as a short sale.

Unfortunately is the Mortgage Debt Forgiveness Act is NOT extended for another year, you're damned if you do (complete the short sale) & damned if you don't (& let it go to foreclosure).
The Aliso Viejo Patch.com posted a question today; "If you had the opportunity to ask a question at the next Presidential debate what would it be"....my question had EVERYTHING to do with getting the Mortg. Debt Forgiveness Act extended for another 4ys, not just 1yr. See my answer here (sorry there are a lot of posted questions by now, scroll down)
If the Act is not extended which I think would be utterly Stupid & if this home is your primary residence you still have the ability to file IRS form 982. Talk to you CPA about this.
The Anti-Deficiency law (SB 931) is not expiring at the end of this year.
You should still continue with your short sale. DO NOT DO A DEED IN LIEU it is the SAME as having a Foreclosure on your record & will increase the time in which you could reenter the the market to build equity back up from the bottom!!

Your realtor gave you the correct information, all liens are wiped out, once the first lien has been foreclosed on, except for tax liens. I would consult with an attorney who has experience with foreclosures. If may take a cease and desist letter to the bank.
Yes you do. Were you served with legal paperwork? Has the bank offered you any relocation money? If you are not being evicted by the court, let the person asking you to leave know that you will leave if you receive whatever amount you think you need to move. James, I would first check how long the house hasn't been occuiped for an go from thier .That should tell you what to check for O.K and then if your a little bit worried about it pay for a houseing inspecter to go check it out for you it would be to your benifit to do that anways .The houseing inspecter can tell you just what your problems are going to be and make sure thiers no back taxes do on it that the bank isn't going to pay and you are at the closing .Hope I was of help see ya and good luck .... more
