I got a professional help and even after paying a month's rent worth of fee I saved lot of money and hassel of learning "new stuff". I also learned a lot at that time. Second time on, I knew exactly what I was doing. The process includes showing property, rental application, credit and background check, preparing and signing lease, handling deposit money etc. One month's rent is standard fees apart from some credit check fees ~$50. Have your agent set you up for Trends automatic emails immediately. Do drive bys now so you are familiar with areas and costs to rent. Take a look at your credit now as if you have bad credit this could severely limit your choices. If you have pets understand that this too will greatly impact what is available.
