The answer to this is that it all depends on 3 things. LOCATION,LOCATION,LOCATION. If the home is a destressed property and listed as a Residental property but actually a wonderful lot with a tear down on it the value is in the land and you are better off to jump on that one and tear it down. The cost of the demolition varies but if the property is on one of the premium lakes in any of the Bloomfields ( Hills,Township, West) an occassional DEAL will show up but you must act quickly.
