Sugar Grove area is very nice and horse friendly! Alot of tourists flock to Boone, then stay nearby, depending on what they are there for, but Sugar Grove would be close enough to everything while still being horse friendly. I love it here! (I live in Sugar Grove!). Good luck!... more

Hi, Tina. Beech Mountain is the highest town east of the Rocky Mountains at 5,506', so you should have no problem finding exactly what you want if you look fairly soon. With other areas getting in much better shape and people feeling better about investing in a permanent, vacation, rental or second home, now is the time to come find the property that is just right for you. I have a few places in mind but would need to know your budget and exactly what you are looking for so just give me a call and we can get started!... more
I would consider older homes on Beech Mountain as those that were built between 1968 - 1988. In 2010 there were 22 such homes sold. However, these included several foreclosures and a few which were remodeled, in various stages. You also have to consider whether the property had a Beech Mountain Club membership (a $30,000 value), view, etc. That being said, these 22 homes averaged between $80 - $90/sf. If you would like to discuss Beech Mountain properties in more detail, please give us a call.... more

It depends as to the location if you want to be close to the golf course or swimming pool or the town recreation area. This appears to be a duplication but in the event it is not, you ask a very good question. It depends on what you are looking for on the mountain. You need to consider whether you will be using the golf course, want a view, would rather have a woodsy feeling with or without a creek or if you would rather be by the Buckeye Recreation Center. As for resale or buy a lot and build, if it were me I would exhaust the potential good deals on existing homes first since they are very accessible to look at. If you can't find what you want there are plenty of builders needing the work and over 200 lots to choose from. There are good points with all so just make a wish list and you should be able to make a decision with a qualified real estate agent.... more
