I've been living in one of the townhouses between Lick Mill and the Guadalupe River trail since mid-September of 2011. I think the neighborhood is pretty nice. I'm single and can't talk about the schools although I know the Don Callejon school is very competitive to get into. I see lots of families with small kids walking the trail and in the small parks.
I haven't experienced any crime. I've been warned by neighbors to not leave the garage door open or leave things on the porch. My place is the closest to the trail and I'm told that minor thefts from garages and porches happen -- all crimes of opportunity.
I like being able to walk to the Rivermark Shopping center, to the restaurants nearby, etc. I sometimes walk the 2 3/4 mile to my office and back. The trail is nice and safe, at least in daylight hours.... more
Terri is absolutely correct; I should have posted "http://www.schoolandhousing.com is the best ONLINE source for finding the actual school attendance for a property address."
The truth of the matter is that you should call the School District Office and provide the address of the home you are considering in order to CONFIRM which schools will "pull" from the address. School Districts routinely perform "student load balancing", which means while a particular home may be located in a certain school attendance area, it may be years before your child actually goes to the school within the assigned attendance area.
