Rancho Madera! Ok, I am a little biased as I live there :-) It's a small gated private community overlooking Redhawk golf course. There are only 69 homes and everyone of them is extremely well maintained. Also one of the most stable communities in Temecula. No bank repo signs here. We have clients from ocean communities who are looking to relocate to Temecula and waiting for a home to come on the market in this community. The two most recent sold homes in this neighborhood were our listings and they sold for $22,000 and $34,000 ABOVE appraised value respectively in 4Q 2011 and April 2012.
There are many other communities that are really nice, but it all depends on what type of lifestyle you want.

The 79 Winchester area runs north and south and is a very long strip. It starts in Temecula and goes all the way to Hemet. If you are speaking of Winchester off the 79 this area is either French Valley or Winchester, just depending on where a particular property is situated. Most of the homes along the 79 are newer. There's several new developments that were built during the housing boom of the early 2000s with large open floorplans. The 79 Winchester is located relatively close to the 15 frwy which runs south to San Diego and north to Orange and LA Counties so commuters love the convenience of easy access to freeways. I live in Paseo Del Sol. We have a rec. area with 4 treadmills, 2 bikes (one new) and a new elliptical. They have a weight machine with several attachments. High tech. security with fingerprint idea required. 2 pools. One usually heated. We have one tennis court and several parks and basketball hoops. Great place to live!
They just built a new gym, but it isn't open yet. I am not 100% sure we will have access to it, but I think so. It is part of Paseo Del Sol and it is off Sunny Meadows by the new homes. Nicer gym! Bigger and more equipment. All brand new! Can't wait for that one to open myself!

Vail ranch is also a desirable community for investors as there's no HOA fees and the property taxes are relatively low. The high school is Great Oak which is a highly rated school and also a key factor for investors. The same applies for home buyers also.
